Here are the few not entirely lame pictures of our recent snow storm to share with those of you who were not here to experience it. We got like 7 or so inches of snow that decided to fall in a few short hours, then blow all around causing lots of accidents and power outages.
We luckily kept power all night, and stayed nice and cozy in our house for the past 3 days. Wednesday, the day the storm started, Parker was home with a low fever/cough. School was let out early that day in anticipation for the storm, which was a great idea. The first photo below was taken around 4pm Wednesday afternoon. The snow wasn't even blowing much then.
Of course, Thursday was a snow day, and without the help of a.) my sisters husband who came and snow blowed my driveway and scooped my sidewalk b.) my neighbors who called to say they would come snow blow my driveway, but didn't have to because my brother-in-law beat them here and c.) an old high-school classmate who also offered to scoop the drive if my brother in law hadn't done it, we would have been stuck in this house for a very long time because there's no way my 31 week pregnant self could have done it. I'm so very grateful to live in such a great community.
Anyway, school was cancelled again today, so we've had a lot of unexpected time at home. This evening the kids and I decided to go brave the roads and drive to the post office that's like 5 blocks away. Luckily, I had the truck, and was able to use the 4x4 because I needed it to get out of the driveway. We then ventured all the way up to the gas station to get snacks and gas. Yeah, I know, whoa Gail, that's a bit much you crazy lady. Haha.
Anyway, on with the pictures and away with the words.
