Kicks n' Kisses

Nerd in her nerd hat.
So back in the day, also known as November 2014, I signed up for the BRIN (Born and Raced in Nebraska) Blackout. This meant that I signed up for all 5 of their 2015 races in one fell swoop. I got a sweet fleece jacket plus I saved $50 that I could probably spend on another race sometime this year. Score!

This morning was race No. 1, the Kicks n' Kisses and it was freaking freezing. And by freezing I mean it was 13 degrees, but with the windchill, it felt like -2. Negative Two. Seriously.

I was prepared though. I wore layers, had gloves, and sported this sweet sweet hat courtesy of my 7 year old who let me borrow it for the occasion. Not only did I look awesome in it, it kept me nice and warm on my run, which was of course the second fastest 5k of my life. The fastest happened 2 days prior on a beautiful 60 degree day and was approximately 9 seconds faster than I ran today.

I'm going to change up my approach on listing my miles. Rather than list it out each month all year, I'm just going to keep a running tally as of the date at the top. Again, I'm doing this publicly to keep myself accountable. Otherwise, I'll probably train as hard as I did last year, which wasn't very hard.
