A baby story

20 weeks
Now that you've been introduced to Tiny Baby, I suppose I'll fill you in on a few more details.

First of all, yes, this baby was planned. We both knew we wanted a third child and after a lot of thought, we decided we'd go for it before he left. We both kind of have the mentality that if it's meant to be, it will and if it happened great and if not, at least we knew we tried so there would never be a "what if."

To a normal person, it may seem crazy to purposely get pregnant before a deployment. Sometimes I even think it's a little crazy. But if you really think about it, there is never a perfect time to have babies when your dealing with the military. There are always periods of separation at random times. So for me, it really didn't seem like a big deal to have him miss out on the pregnancy part if he was going to be back for majority of the having an infant part.

Three days after Dale left, I found out I was pregnant. It was exciting and stressful, and after some debate, I decided to tell him before he officially left the states.  He was overwhelmed, obviously, but also excited. We both decided we'd wait to tell people until after the 12 week mark this time. I just didn't really want to announce it too early then miscarry and have to tell everyone. So we went on with life and our first overseas deployment with our tiny baby secret.

I had my first doctor appointment at 13.5 weeks (yeah, I'm a procrastinator) and heard the heartbeat for the first time. In case you're wondering, it's just as exciting on the third child as it was on the first. We announced the news to our families the following weekend, and it was a good thing because my belly really started to show after that.

I am now halfway through, at 20 weeks, and everything is going great. I had my anatomy ultrasound a week and a half ago, and all looks well. We are not finding out what we're having this time, since we already have one of each and it doesn't really matter.

So far, this has been my best pregnancy of the three. I only had about 4 days of bad morning sickness, which was good because being alone with 2 kids is hard to do when you're sick. Body wise I was in better shape prior to this pregnancy because of all the running I've been doing, so I've felt really great and have had little or no pain issues. I'm weighing far less at this point than with the other two as well. The only complaint I have are pelvic pains, which I had with the other two as well, so it's nothing I'm overly worried about.

Parker wasn't too excited about another baby at first. He said if it was another girl, he's moving out, but he's coming around now. Macy just keeps saying there's a baby in her tummy too. She doesn't quite get it, not that I expected her to.

We're unsure on if Dale will be back for the birth or not, but I decided it's not something I'm going to over think. Of course I want him home for it, but I'm not going to get overly hopeful to have it not happen. I just don't think that sort of disappointment would help me in the whole having a baby part. Dale remains optimistic however, so if the stars align, he'll be home for Tiny Baby's birth.
