Story Time

My reading has slowed significantly during the past few months it seems. Kind of a bummer now that I think about it. On a personal note, I dread the day I have to move onto something other than fantasy novels, or I guess, teen fantasy novels. It just seems like most adult books always have to have some sort of disturbing rape scene that adds nothing to the storyline. It's like the publisher has a list of things they need in a book and one of the categories is rape scene. It's just unnecessary.

-Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy, EL James
I'm not even going to list all 3 books separately like I normally do for series because this was a pretty big let down. I bought into all the hype about how awesome these books were, and I have to say that if you don't read books very often, I can see why you thought they were good. However, I wouldn't even place this series in the top like 200 books I've read. The only good thing about them was the idea that a seemingly normal girl tamed a wild billionaire. The erotic scenes get interesting sometimes too I guess.

-The Power of Six (Lorien Legacies), Pittacus Lore
The second book of the series, leaves you hanging for the third. I like that. :)

-The Witching Hour (Mayfair Witches), Anne Rice
-Lasher (Mayfair Witches), Anne Rice
These were long books. Maybe that's why it doesn't seem like I read too much. Anyway, I've been wanting to read Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches series for a while now. I just needed to take a long break after reading majority of her vampire books. I'm glad I did. These were pretty great. The last book is Taltos, which I'm going to read after I get through a few others.

-Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood Book 12), Charlaine Harris
This series is dying. I guess after 12 books, it's bound to happen though.

-Fire (Graceling), Kristin Cashore
I think a few months ago, I mentioned that you should read Graceling. If you haven't yet, do. Then read this one. They're great. I'm excited to read the next book, Bitterblue.

-Sapphique (Incarceron), Catherine Fisher
I read Incarceron a bit ago, and it was pretty interesting. This book is better than the first if I remember it right.

Up next:
The Rise of Nine (Lorien Legacies), Pittacus Lore
The Mark of Athena (Heroes of Olympus), Rick Riordan
Bitterblue (Graceling), Krisin Cashore
Taltos (Mayfair Witches), Anne Rice
