The good life

Tomorrow's the big travelin' day. We're all packed up and ready to go home to Nebraska. Yay.

I've received tons of advice about flying with the babes and I'm so thankful. I feel that with this shared knowledge, I'm as prepared as I can be for the trip. Steps I've taken to maybe make things easier:

1. Put one diaper and a small ziplock of wipes into a larger ziplock bag so I can quickly grab what I need without having to tear my bag apart. I have 3 such packages prepared.
2. Put my quart sized bag of liquids into my diaper bag so I can easily take it out for security. My pre-mixed formula is also in the diaper bag. Once through security, I"ll move some of these items into my backpack.
3. I've been practicing putting Macy in and out of my baby wrap so I'll have an easier time once at the airport. She's taken to falling asleep while I wear her, so I"m crossing my fingers that she just sleeps majority of the trip.
4. The gum and pacifier are ready to pop those little ears on the way up and down.
5. Parker's picked out Toy Story 3, Spongebob, The Land Before Time and Despereaux to watch on his DVD player. He also has a few cars, a notebook, some crayons and some books for the trip.
6. I have a few "hothands" to put in my mini-cooler with the formula. This will hopefully warm it up enough that Macy doesn't get super upset. Like her brother, she hates cold milk.

I'm not checking any luggage or taking any car seats, strollers, etc. Dale's driving up on Monday, so our main baggage will be with him. For the short-term, my sister found us some car seats to use on our trip from the airport to her house and I have enough stuff to last us a day or so at her house.

I've convinced myself that Macy will scream the whole trip as she usually does in the car. It's going to be stressful, but 4.5 hours will beat the 20 hour car trip we would have had to take otherwise. I'm sure Dale's thankful I'm brave enough to fly with her. I'm not concerned about Parker at all because he's a really great kid in public. We're very stranger danger so he doesn't stray too far away and he listens really well. And, if Macy doesn't actually scream the whole time, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Prayers for safe travels will be much appreciated!
