Back in the day (i.e. before kids) I used to Christmas shop from Oct – Dec. 25. I loved it. I'd spend a ton of time wrapping my gifts up in pretty boxes with ribbons and bows. They'd all match perfectly and I'd arrange them under my tree in a visually pleasing manner. My gifts were all thought out and I spent an even amount on everyone.
Fast forward to now, and I'll be lucky if I get everything wrapped this year. It just doesn't feel like I have enough time to accomplish everything in time. I've got Christmas cards to send out, photo books to finish, cookies to make, and tons of presents to wrap. The things I've bought are a hodgepodge and I have no idea how much I spent on who.
The good news is, none of this stuff really matters. Christmas won't be ruined by sloppy wrapping or dollar amounts spent. What matters most is family and celebrating the real reason for the season, the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen! Merry Christmas!
