This quote pretty much sums up my life.
This little ditty rang true once again this past weekend. Saturday, I was to fly to Ohio for my work Christmas party. My flight had been booked for a month, and I was to arrive with plenty of time to get to the party which started at 5:30 p,m. I woke up bright and early, to find that the first of two flights was cancelled. Great. So I call United to reschedule and they ended up transferring me to Delta. So I'm on the phone with my 'foreign' representative and he finds a flight that leaves at 9 and arrives at 5. So I say ok and head out the door. It was when I got to Lincoln that I figure out they scheduled my new flight as leaving Omaha, not Lincoln. So, I call Delta, who has to transfer me to United (since I booked my original ticket with them) and the United 'foreign' representative didn't want to transfer my ticket to a Lincoln departure since I had agreed to the Omaha departure. Ridiculous I say, why would I leave Omaha and fly home to Lincoln? So finally they fix my flight.
However, the new trip took me from Lincoln to Minneapolis. Minneapolis to Detroit. Detroit to Dayton. And I didn't arrive until 9 p.m. I made it to the last 30 minutes of the Christmas party. A total bummer.
The trip home faired slightly better. There was about an hour and a half delay in Chicago when the plane kept having weight/balance issues. First, they said they just had to move some luggage from the bottom of the plane to the top. So they did that and we get ready to go. Nope, that's not enough. Now someone had to volunteer to get off the plane. So a woman volunteered and we get ready to go. Nope, that's still not right. Someone from the first 4 rows must move to the now open seat that lady vacated. I was in row 4, so I grabbed my crap and moved back. Ugh. Eventually we made it, but I was fearful.
I take it all in stride though. I know I'm not the only person who had back luck. Especially bad luck flying. Plans just don't work out for me. Ever.
