Story Time

I haven't had a whole lot of free time in the past couple of months to read, but since it is my favorite pastime, I sneak in a little bit here and there. Since my last post about books, I've read the following:

-Darkest Mercy (Wicked Lovely Series), Melissa Marr
Not going to lie, this was a slight disappointment to me. I waited so long for it's release that I pretty much forgot what the story was about and once I finally got the who is who figured out, the book was half done. I'm pretty sure there's going to be another one, but it's not going to be on my MUST read list.

-Forever (Wolves of Mercy Falls Series), Maggie Stiefvater
I'm not disappointed in this series. It was quick and compelling. I like that.

-The Hangman's Daughter, Oliver Potzsch
I got this for my Kindle on a whim and was glad I did. A great story about a Russian Hangman and a witch hunt. While the story was fiction, the book was full of rich history and mind-blowing facts about peoples beliefs in witches.

-The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch, Joseph Delaney
-The Last Apprentice: Curse of the Bane, Joseph Delaney
This juvenile series isn't too bad. They're quick reads about a Spook and his apprentice. In my opinion, a tween would really enjoy these books. I can't say I love them, but for a random grab at the library, they were interesting enough.

-The Heroes of Olympus Book One: The Lost Hero, Rick Riordan
-The Heroes of Olympus, Book Two: The Son of Neptune, Rick Riordan
I love Rick Riordan's ability to bring Greek and Roman mythology into this century. These are an expansion of his wonderful Percy Jackson series and I will absolutely be waiting on the rest. I had read The Lost Hero a while ago, but decided to re-read it before starting The Son of Neptune. I'm glad I did because I didn't miss a beat when starting the second one.

Currently Reading:
Inheritance, (The Inheritance Cycle) Christopher Paolini
