Yesterday the kids and I turned a 7.5 hour roadtrip into a 10.25 hour journey to Branson, for an early Thanksgiving at my sister's house.
We left at 3:30 am, which I thought would ensure the kids would sleep a good portion of the drive. I was wrong. They both woke up when I put them in the car and were up until at least 6 am. That's how it goes right? They were pretty good for most of the trip though, which was nice. We had to make two major stops on the drive down. One was an hour-long visit to Walmart just to get out of the car and the other was at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield.
Today my sisters, all 6 of our kids and my brother-in-law are having Thanksgiving. I can't remember the last time we we've even had a family Thanksgiving, and asking my sisters, apparently neither can they. This is also our Christmas, so after dinner the kids will get to open presents. Then, tonight we are going to Silver Dollar City to see all the Christmas lights and the parade.
I love hanging out with my family :)
Hanging out with family is wonderful - I'm sure you will have many happy memories of this. :) It's very special.
