Story Time

Wow, it's been more than two months since I last blogged about books. I bet you were just waiting and waiting to see what I've read recently right? Because as followers of my blog, what I read is important to you. I just know it. :) Well even reading isn't your favorite thing, I still like to share books I've read with those of you who do love reading. I think the best way to learn about a book is to hear if it's worth reading from someone you know. I don't have a very long list for it being 2 months, but I have a full-time job now and that takes away some of the spare time I once had. Anyway ...

I'll start with my favorite and most important:

-Inheritance, (The Inheritance Cycle) Christopher Paolini
I LOVED this series. Seriously. I think they should re-make the movie based off of the first book, Eragon, and have one of the Harry Potter directors do it and they'd have themselves a series of blockbusters. This was one series I couldn't put down, and I was so excited to read the last book, this one, that I pre-ordered it off Amazon so I'd get it as soon as possible.

-Son of a Witch, Volume Two in the Wicked Years, Gregory Maguire
This is the follow-up to Wicked, which I read a few months ago. It took you further into the life of Elphaba's (the wicked witch) son Liir. It's extremely wonderful to read something that expands on what you already thought you knew about the Land of Oz.

-A Lion Among Men, Volume Three in the Wicked Years, Gregory Maguire
The third in the series, this one concentrates on the life of the Cowardly Lion. When finished I was excited to start the next book in the series.

-Out of Oz: The Final Volume in the Wicked Years, Gregory Maguire
Booo, the final volume, but absolutely worth the read. A great ending to a great series.

-Clockwork Angel (Infernal Devices Series) Cassandra Clare
I read this one sometime in 2011 and although it was very similar to Clare's Mortal Instruments books, it's a whole new storyline with new characters. I re-read it because the next in the series came out and I wanted to remember what had happened in the first before I read the second.

-Clockwork Prince (Infernal Devices) Cassandra Clare
After the first 80 pages or so, I didn't want to put this down. It moves fast and the end leaves you wanting more. I'm almost wishing I waited until the series was complete to begin reading it so I could just inhale all the books at once, but I'm too impatient to wait that long :)

On reserve at the library:
Divergent, Veronica Roth
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, Ransom Riggs
Red Pyramid (The Kane Chronicle), Rick Riordan

Waiting to be released:
City of Lost Souls (Mortal Instruments) Cassandra Clare, May 8, 2012
Rapture (Fallen), Lauren Kate, June 12, 2012
