6 month check-up

Macy had her 6 month well baby appointment yesterday, and as usual, she's perfect :)

The pediatrician kind of annoyed me though. She talked to me as if Macy was my first baby even though Parker was there with us. I can't remember all the specific things she said, but I do remember her telling me that I need to bring her back in for her 9 month, 12 month, 15 month, 18 month and then 2 year appointments. I nodded, but I was thinking "no sh*t?" I don't think I look like an idiot, so when people talk to me like that I get really put off. At least we should be back in Nebraska by the time her 9 month appointment is here and I can take her and Parker back to our wonderful pediatrician in Lincoln.

Anyways, Macy had to get 3 shots and an oral vaccine yesterday. They had also wanted to give her a flu shot, but I thought 4 shots was kind of overkill so I said we'd wait for that one. She doesn't get any at her 9 month appointment, so I think waiting until then will be better. She was slightly more fussy than usual yesterday, but overall the immunizations didn't affect her much at all.

Macy's doing everything a 6 month old should be doing. She's babbling a bit, blowing spit filled raspberries, reaching for things, grabbing them, and transferring them from hand to hand. She still rolls both ways, and is trying so hard to move forward when she's on her tummy. Many times she lays on the floor and does 180's while trying to get her toys. She loves watching her big brother, staring at dad, and pulling mom's hair :) She can sit up on her own for short periods of time until her big head gets in the way and she topples over.

She hates sitting still, and still wants to be carried everywhere. We've figured out that if we push her around in the umbrella stroller while Parker rides his bike in the driveway, she stays pretty content. She just wants to move and I predict that as soon as she figures out sitting, she'll be off and crawling in no time.

Macy: 16lb 7oz, 25 inches

Macy: 11lbs 10oz., 23.25 inches
Parker: 12lbs 5oz., 23 inches

Macy: 7lbs 15oz., 20.5 inches
Parker: 6lbs 9oz., 19.5 inches
