Pumpkin Carving

As some of you may know, Dale's gone again. Frowny face. However, he's going to be gone just 3 short weeks this time. Happy face.

Before he left, we decided we should carve our pumpkins with the kids. Parker was super excited this year and wanted to carve his "All by myself." That lasted about 7 seconds and then it became "I'll draw the faces and you carve them." So that's what we did.
First we had to wait for dad to get done cooking dinner, so we rode in the wagon.
Then we decided to just cut the top off of just one while we waited...
Finally, it was time! Parker actually stuck his hand in and tried to clean it out. This didn't last long though and Dale had to finish the work.

Unlike her brother, Macy had no qualms about touching pumpkin guts. She also didn't have any qualms about eating pumpkin guts either. She kept coming back for more.

Parker's scary pumpkin face drawing.

The finished trio. The one on the left has a bunch of eyes that he can see, smell and eat out of. The middle guy just has two scary mouths and the one on the right has two noses. These were carved exactly how Parker drew them and I think he did a great job on making scary pumpkin faces.

  1. How cute. Thanks for sharing the pumpkin carving!! Macy is so darn cute I could "squeeze the pumpkin" out of her. :)
