Smorgasbord

I've been busy. Too busy apparently to blog more than 9 times last month. Whoops. So this post is going to just be a smorgasbord of happenings from the past month.

-First I'll start with the coolest news. Parker the pants has learned how to ride his bike without training wheels. He and Dale have been practicing for a while over on the softball fields, but the other night, he was proudly riding on the streets all by himself. He can't quite get going all by himself yet, but I think he does pretty good for being just 4 1/2.

-We were able to make it to the Lincoln Air Show on September 11. Parker thought it was pretty darn cool, and we were able to see a lot of Dale's Army buddies over by the helicopter section which was nice. The day was super hot though, so we didn't quite do it all. Maybe when the kids get older...

-I entered this picture in the Tiny Tillia by Avon Baby Photo Search Contest. I'll find out if she wins in November. ;)

-Dale's sister Erin got married September 17. It was a wonderful occasion to get all dressed up for. Dale was a usher and Parker was the ring bearer, so they looked very handsome in their tuxedos.

-We went fishing in a pond north of town. We caught this one fish, but that's one more than we caught most of our fishing trips in Alabama, so I call it a success. Dale also snagged 2 bullfrogs who tried to have "relations" with his fake rubber bait frog. Parker insisted he had to touch the poor fishes eye and Macy had no qualms about reaching out to touch it either.

-Last weekend, my best buddy Jeff got married and I played the part of candlelighter for the occasion. Dale's mom watched the kids so we could take part in all the festivities. As luck would have it though, Macy came down with a high fever, and my mother-in-law had to take her to the urgent care clinic. My poor girl had an ear infection and tonsillitis and it killed me not to be there for her first real sickness. :( But, she was in good hands and she's looking to make a full recovery.
