For the past 10 months, my office has been my kitchen table. Not very ideal, but space constraints in our rental house made it my only option.
Well working at the kitchen table is no more for this girl! Whoohoo.
Now that we've gotten ourselves settled in our new house, I thought it was time to get myself a real desk. We looked at nearby office supply and furniture stores, but I couldn't find anything that I A) loved or B) didn't cost an arm and a leg. So I decided to take my search online.
I was originally looking for a corner desk, since there's a nice corner in our living room that's enough out of the way I could make it mine. The longer I searched though, the more I started leaning towards a computer armoire. I just couldn't get the idea that I could "close" my office when I wasn't working out of my head.
I finally narrowed it down to one that had storage for my printer, had doors that swung backwards out of the way, and was in a style that I could see being in my living room.
The very best part about it was originally $560 but I found it on sale at Nebraska Furniture Mart for a whopping $188.89! Yay. I did have to pay $70 for shipping, but with the price of gas these days, it'd cost that much to drive our truck to Omaha and back anyway, so it was a no brainer.
Now that it's all together and my stuff is in it, my only complaint would be that the doors don't sit flush with each other in the center and there's a little gap. You can see it in the picture below. But, that's not a big deal to me at all. I love it. LOVE.
I'm super excited. What do you think? Far better than the kitchen table isn't it?
