Run for the Bridges 10k

I ran my first off-road 10k, Run for the Bridges, on Saturday morning. That's 6.2 miles, majority of it on dirt trails through the woods.  


I wasn't quite prepared for it to be an off-road run, but it was kind of fun to do. I had to jump tree roots, run up hills, watch for branches, that sort of stuff. 


For a little while I was intimidated by all the younger, fitter looking people I saw when we lined up to start, but I soon learned that appearances can be deceiving. I was in far better shape than lots of those people. On the flip side though, there were people who looked like they'd be in worse shape than me who kicked my ass as well.  


While I won't share my time, I will share with you how I placed in the Run for the Bridges.

Place in Gender: 44 of 166
Division Female 20-29: 19 of 49


This week my goal is to complete a 7 mile run. I have to keep this momentum going!

  1. Good job!! I cannot imagine running 2 miles ... let alone 6, 10 or 26. It's awesome.
