A few days ago I decided it would be fun for Parker and I to make cookies. I didn't want to go to the store for any ingredients so we made the only cookie we could, the sugar cookie. Parker helped me measure and mix all the ingredients and we put it in the fridge for a few hours as the directions said.
Later, we attempted to roll out the dough but it was super super sticky. I had to add a ton of flour to it in order to get it at a somewhat rollable consistency, which I knew wasn't a good move. It's not like I was going to just throw it away though, so Parker and I kept at it until we had cut and used all the dough. I baked them up and set them aside to frost and sprinkle at a later date.
Here's the jist of how they turned out. Yesterday, Dale packed himself a lunch before he left for work in the morning. He thought a few of our "sugar" cookies would be a good addition as well. When he got home that evening he asked me if I tried the cookies yet and I replied that they had too much flour but weren't terrible. He said they tasted more like a biscuit than a cookie.
Dang. Talk about a cookie fail.
cute story!
