Haircut!

I'm getting my haircut on Saturday. Oh ya, I'm excited! **If you're my cosmetologist sister-in-law stop reading here. :)

My hair is really long. It hasn't been cut in a super long time. In fact, my last haircut was last July. Ya, an entire year. Who does that? I think the experts say you're supposed to get a trim like every 6 weeks or something.

Why haven't I gotten a haircut in a year? It's probably a combination of lack of time, money, energy, and having a stylist I trust. Or maybe it's that whole mom mentality of putting everyone else first. I don't really have a solid answer actually.

Anyways, my birthday present this year is a haircut and I'm chopping it all off. I figure since it's all going to fall out after I have Little Miss anyway, (probably in clumps like it did after I had Parker) I'll just go ahead and donate a good 10 inches to Locks of Love, where it can either go to making a wig or to help offset their costs.

Will I miss my long hair? Not really. Back in the days before kids and responsibilities I rocked the short hair that changed colors every 6 weeks. It was fun, and I looked fine with short hair, so it doesn't scare me. Plus, it always grows back right?

I'll be sure to take before and after pictures, don't worry.

  1. I think you will look cute whatever length your hair. Nice that you are donating to Locks of Love.

  2. I'm in the same situation. I color my own hair and I've even cut it this past year. Why? I don't feel like taking the time or money to go get a haircut.

I think you will look fabulous with short hair. Like you said, it grows back if do end up hating it. After I had Isabelle, I got my hair chopped off when I was in India and I loved it. Actually, I think I noticed the hair loss less than I did with Evangeline when I had long hair(I looked like an old lady). Regardless, I think it's somewhat of an end-of-pregnancy thing. Both times I felt the need to do something drastic with my hair. Good luck!!

  3. Oh good Ashley, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's avoided salons!

And thanks to both of you, I'm hoping whatever cut she gives me, it's flattering.
