4 months

We finally got Macy in for her 4 month appointment last week. Okay, I guess it would be her 4 1/2 month appointment if you need to get technical about it. :)

It was our first pediatric appointment at the Lyster Army Medical Clinic. Up until now, we were able to see a regular pediatrician as we waited for her to get registered in Tricare, the deers (sp?) system, and all that other fun stuff you have to do to be able to see the on-post doctors anyway. Other than a few minor issues, I'd have to say it was the least stressful doctor's wait I've had while living in Alabama. We sat in the waiting room for about 5 minutes, the nurse weighed and measured Macy, we were sent back out to the waiting room (the doctors are in a different part of the office) got called back right away, talked with a new nurse about Macy's eczema and then the doctor was there within minutes. It was nice not having to keep Macy happy while waiting for the doctor. I always hated that part of doctor's appointments. Macy's growing fine, doing just what she's supposed to be doing, and the doctor, nor I, had any concerns about her. After her appointment, we were cleared to go to the immunization office and get her shots. She was a trooper and only cried a little bit and then slept the whole way home.

The few issues were that the computers at the clinic were down so we couldn't get a prescription for Macy's eczema that day. It wasn't a big deal since I wasn't expecting a prescription anyway, so we're just supposed to go back to Lyster sometime this week and pick it up. The second hiccup was when we went to the immunization office, they didn't have Macy's shot records, even though I had made a special trip to the medical records office earlier in the week, to get her stuff transferred from her pediatrician in Dothan. So, I had to pack the kids up again and go back over to the medical records office, where they promptly called who they needed to call and got the records faxed over right away. Whew. Within 10 minutes we were back at the immunization office getting things done.
