Storytime

I really seem to go in reading spurts. I read a bunch of books, then it seems like I can't really get into it for a week or so, then I get my reading groove back again. It's kind of strange.

Books I've recently read:
--Let Me In, John Ajvide Lindqvist
This book was extremely weird. It's one my sister loaned me a LONG time ago, and I finally got around to reading it. It started out pretty mysterious, morphed into a vampire-esk book, took a turn into having a sick sexual plot and then ended in a somewhat interesting way. I can honestly say it disturbed me.

--The Kite Runner, Kahled Hosseini
This was a fantastic book. It was the kind of book you lose yourself in a little bit. You get lost with the characters, and you want to know more. It's gritty, disturbing, and the culture shock you get really makes you think differently about your life.

--Hunger Games Trilogy, (Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay), Suzanne Collins
These were amazing books. I didn't want to put them down, and I pretty much didn't. I was so enthralled with the story that when I was done with the second book, Catching Fire, I didn't want to waste time going to the library and just bought it on my Kindle so I could start reading it right away. If you haven't read these, you should. They're quick and wonderful.

--Lonesome Dove, Larry McMurty
LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I know tons of people who love the movie, but I must say this is one of my top ten books. I'd say it's somewhere up there with Gone with the Wind. It took me a while to get into it, but at around page 200, I didn't do much else besides read it.

Next up on my list:
--Dead Man's Walk, Larry McMurty
--The Glass Castle, Jeannette Walls (I finally have this on reserve at the library)

Books I STILL need to read:
--Darkest Mercy (Wicked Lovely Series), Melissa Marr
--City of Fallen Angels (Mortal Instruments, Book 4), Cassandra Clare

Books I'm looking forward to being released:
--The Heroes of Olympus Book Two: The Son of Neptune, Rick Riordan, October 4
--Inheritance, (The Inheritance Cycle) Christopher Paolini, November 8
