11 miles

Remember that grand plan I had to complete a 9 mile run one week, then an 11 mile run the next week? Yeah, well that never happened. 


I'm about 20 miles short of what I ran last April compared to this April. I have a million excuses why, but the only thing that matters is I didn't train as hard as I wanted and it's no ones fault but my own. 


Enough boo hoos. I did complete an 11 mile run this evening and it made me feel a lot better about how I'm going to do next Sunday in the half. I wasn't easy, but it wasn't hard either. I should have no problems doing 13. I'm just going to give it my all and hope that I can do it faster than last year. 


I have 3 tiered goals when it comes to this years half marathon. My No. 1 goal is to finish. That one is most important. Secondly, I want to run the entire thing again. Third, I want to do it faster than 2:22:26. 


In other running news, I'm running in another 5k the weekend May 12 with my niece and sister. My niece is in this thing called Girls On The Run, and they wrap up their season with a the 5k. I'm excited to run with them again and support a great program. I've also told my pal Casey that she's running a 5k with me on my birthday in July. I'm not sure how she feels about it, but I think I've given her enough heads up to get to training :)
