The Color Run

This morning I participated in my very first Color Run. This awesome 5k race is so fun! You show up wearing white, and by the end of the day, you're covered in color.

Every kilometer, they coat you in a different color of a dyed cornstarch-like powder. The first was pink, then blue, then yellow, and last orange. Then after the race is complete, there's a big dance party and everyone gets to throw their own color packets in the air and you are literally dancing in a cloud of color that rains down on you.

My friend Tess, a fellow Army wife, invited me to run it last month, and I am so glad I did. It was a great time. We're so going to do it again next year, and hopefully more people will join us. It's not a competitive race, so you don't even have to run at all if you don't want to. The crowd in Omaha was awesome. There were 13,000 people participating and it benefitted the  Habitat for Humanity. So an awesome run for an awesome cause, what's better?

We got there early enough we were able to be in line early enough to be at the very front of the second group of runners. We were done with the race and there were still people at the start line. That's how huge of an event this was. Anyway, photos below show exactly how fun it was. The last one is me at the end of the day. Yeah, I'm straight up colored.
