Home

I'm home. Well kind of.

Monday/Tuesday was spent driving the 1,168 mile, 19 hour 53 minute (without stops) distance between home in Alabama, and my sister's home in Nebraska. Parker did great, but my body did not. After an entire 28 hours of recovery time, my body still hurts. Who would have thought that driving 20 hours wouldn't be a good idea for a pregnant woman?

It's nice to be back in Nebraska. I'm more relaxed now that I'm here. It's just something about being familiar with all of my surroundings that really puts me at ease. I'm glad I decided to come here while Dale was gone. 3 weeks of complete aloneness in Alabama would have really played a number on my emotions and sanity. I'm completely sure of it.

My plans for my stay in Nebraska include a lot of hanging out with my friends and family, purchasing Parker a new summer wardrobe, and perhaps purchasing my first pink baby item if I feel ambitious. I'm going to go with the flow of things, and make plans on a whim. It'll be great.

I'll be here for a few weeks, then Parker and I will slowly make our way back to Alabama. I will absolutely NOT try to do it in a 2 day time period again though. I will stop once every 2 hours and we will take long lunches and dinners. If it's going to be just Parker and I, I'm going to make this trip as easy as I can. Shockingly enough, this will probably be the last trip to or from Nebraska with just the two of us. Next time little miss Dishman will be riding along, and the rules will all change again.
