Sugar and spice

While pregnant with Parker, my daily staples were milk, rice chex cereal, and spicy food. I craved those three items more than anything in my whole life. I alone, would easily drink a couple gallons of milk a week. I loved eating spicy Mongolian at Huhot and the drunken noodles at the Blue Orchid, a Thai restaurant. If it was just me, Chipotle, Taco Johns, or Taco Bell would satisfy my spicy food craving. Rice chex was my daily breakfast and my occasional dinner too. I rarely wanted sweet foods.

This time around, the only thing I've noticed craving are sweets. Lots and lots of sweets. My favorite thing to eat is buttered toast with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on the top. I'm actually going to make some when I get done with this post, that's how good it sounds. It's amazing how pregnancy isn't a one size fits all thing, each one is different. I'd like to think that I'm craving sweets more because I'm having a sweet little girl.

It'll be interesting what else I'm going to crave as this pregnancy moves along. I hope I crave spicy food again though, because I think Dale will be more willing to support a spicy diet than a lame one filled with pickles and tuna.

On a side note, Dale got to feel her kicking tonight. She's really been a kicking this evening, but each time I put Dale's hand on my belly, she'd stop. Finally on our third attempt, he got to feel it. :)
