Animal Kingdom

The second park we visited on our Disney Vacation was Animal Kingdom. Animals, rides, and Disney characters... what could be better? We got to stay 3 hours past closing time because we were staying at a Disney Resort. The advantage to this was Dale and Parker got to ride the river rapids ride twice because Parker loved it so much.

We saw the Bugs Life show in the big tree thing, a Lion King show, and Parker and Dale rode all the rides the little guy was tall enough for. Of course, since I was pregnant, my only ride was the train, but no sour grapes here. I got to watch the parade while they were on the Safari.

We dined at the Rainforest Cafe while waiting for their FastPass time to come for the Safari. I had thought it was 2:45 to 3:45, but it turns out it was only until 3:24. At about 3:18, Dale noticed how wrong I was, and he and Parker ran all the way through the park to get in line while I finished lunch and slowly strolled back to the area where they'd get off. I'm glad they made it in time though because Dale thought it was pretty cool, and Parker was super excited about it.

Parker played games on the midway area of the Dinosaur area, rode the dinosaur ride, and denied all attempts by me when it came to guiding him into the gift shop for a dinosaur souvenir. Don't worry, later he picked out a cool hard hat with a light on the top to take home.

The coolest part of the park was that the different areas were so skillfully designed to actually look like the area represented. The Africa part seemed dilapidated and dirty just by design. I should have taken pictures of it, but to be honest, I wasn't on my A-game when it came to photos on the second day. Sorry.

The day was long, I had a blister on my little toe, and I was hot. We ended the evening by going back to our hotel and going for a swim. Animal Kingdom was pretty awesome, but as far as viewing animals, the ol' Henry Doorly kicks Animal Kingdom's booty!
