Off to see Mickey!

Tomorrow we are heading off to Disney World. I'm pretty stoked for our trip too. I've always wanted to go to Disney World and I'm so excited that we are able to take Parker while we're living so close.

When I was 6, my parents took us on a family vacation to Disney Land in California. At least that was the highlight of the trip for me. We left our home in the Black Hills, looped up through the Yellowstone to see the sites, went down through Salt Lake City, into Nevada and finally into California. If there was anything touristy on the way, we stopped. We spent a day at the ocean, where my sister Tammy fell in, arm cast and all.

Disney Land was my favorite part of the whole trip. It'd probably the favorite part of many 6 year olds vacations. The teacups were my favorite, I was super freaked out on Space Mountain, and I had to have the Mickey Mouse ears with the pink hat. My chosen souvenir was a stuffed "Lucky" from 101 Dalmatians.

On our way back home, we continued to site see, stopping at the 4 corners in Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico, seeing the Rocky Mountains, then looping through the eastern side of South Dakota to visit my grandparents in Yankton, S.D. It was the only big vacation our family ever took, but it provided me with tons of great memories.

I hope Parker remembers at least pieces of this trip. I know expecting a 3 year old to remember it all is asking a lot, but he does amaze me sometimes, so I may be surprised. I probably won't be updating this blog anytime during the week, but I hope to have lots to share when we return this weekend. Take care!
