Camping

In February Dale took Parker camping for the first time, and that little boy was in heaven.

First they had to set up camp and when the tent went up, in went Parker and he played in it for hours. He made his sleeping spot in the corner with his sleeping bag and pillow, then he kept teasing Dale that he had to sleep in the tiny sleeping bag, which was the little bag that his sleeping bag came in.

A boy through and through, he can't help himself but get down into the elements.

What's camping without throwing rocks in the lake.

Eventually Macy and I joined in the fun. Macy loved the camping chair so much she wanted to squeeze her head right into the cup holder.

We hit up the playground at the campground too. Parker whizzed in circles on the big swing, and Macy sat in the baby swing for the first time ever. Then in true Macy fashion, she cried.

We then returned to our campsite to start dinner. The campfire mesmerized that little Dishman boy.

After dinner, Dale's pal Ryan came out and joined the boys for a little night fishing and Macy and I returned home. Their luck was little, so they returned back to camp empty handed and sat around the fire. As Dale and Ryan chatted, Parker interrupted and said "Can you guys be quiet, I'm trying to watch the fire." A short time later, at just 7:30 in the evening, he was out in his chair.

Early the next morning, Parker enjoyed his warm Yoohoo in his camping chair. These two photos make me giggle every time I look at them. Especially that second one. Hahaha.

Once he was awake, it was time to play in the dirt some more before trying his hand at fishing again.

Overall this camping trip was the best time ever for him. He kept telling Dale the entire time, and even afterwards, that it was a great day. And if that wasn't enough to melt his dad's heart, he also added, "A fishing pole and worms dad, that's all I need."

  1. So, so sweet...he looks so grown up in those photos where his legs are crossed. :-)
