Story time

Wow, it's been months since I talked about books. That's super uncool. I know I won't remember all I've read during that time, but I will talk about the ones I remember, which are probably the most important anyway.

Things I've learned about myself by actually keeping track of what I've been reading is I tend to gravitate more towards fantasy series and I'm not ashamed to admit I read some books that are more teen oriented. I guess I enjoy the quick easy reads. I also LOVE series type novels where I can finish a book, but look forward to seeing where the author takes it in the next one. I'd also like to note that I have yet to see a movie that is better than the book. People who don't read are missing out on so much, it's sad.

Ok, on with the list. Sheesh I'm a rambler this evening.

My sister loaned me some books in November and I was finally able to read the Millennium Trilogy that has been on my list for more than a year. I went through this series very quickly and was not disappointed at all. It is a bit extreme and vulgar at times, but it's a very intense read, in a good way.
--The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson
--The Girl who Played with Fire, Steig Larsson
--The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, Steig Larsson

I absolutely LOVE Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and am excited to see where they go. Read them if you haven't. So far I've read:
-#1 Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice
-#2 The Vampire Lestat, Anne Rice
-#3 The Queen of the Damned, Anne Rice
-#4 The Tale of the Body Thief, Anne Rice

Other random books I've read recently:
--Evil at Heart, Chelsea Cain (a third to a series I read earlier)
--Deception Point, Dan Brown
--Clockwork Prince (Infernal Devices series), Cassandra Clare
--Tales of the Black Hills, Helen Rezatto
--Heaven is for Real, Todd Burpo (Very inspiring story of a little boy's trip to heaven and back)

Books I STILL need to read:
--The Glass Castle, Jeannette Walls
--#5 Memnoch the Devil, Anne Rice
--#6 The Vampire Armand, Anne Rice
--#7 Merrick, Anne Rice
--Darkest Mercy (Wicked Lovely Series), Melissa Marr

Books I'm waiting to be released:
--(April 5) City of Fallen Angels (Mortal Instruments, Book 4), Cassandra Clare
--(May 3) Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 11), Charlaine Harris
--(June 4) Passion (Third in Fallen Series), Lauren Kate

  1. The Millenium Trilogy is amazing. You're right - it's gruesome and vulgar sometimes, but wow, the stories are just amazing.
