Going sugarless

I love sweets. Candy, cookies, doughnuts, you name it, I love it. This is a fine thing to like if you have some self control when it comes to eating them, but that's the part I struggle with.

I try to avoid buying such items as to avoid temptation, but somehow they seem to make their way into my home, where they will inevitably be consumed most often by yours truly.

I can guarantee my addiction to sweets affected my weight gain while pregnant with Macy, and also my weight loss after having her. It's a total bummer.

So in order to somewhat curb my addiction and hopefully help me drop that last 8 that won't move, I've decided to give it up sweets for a week. Once I make it through this week, I'll shoot for 2, and so on.

I'm 5 days into my first week, and so far so good. The scale says the lowest number I've seen since the end of 2009, so that's encouraging. I'm confident I will be able to reach the one week goal, but 2 whole weeks without sweets might be tough. Oh self imposed restrictions are just so fun!

  1. Gee, that's nice that dropping sweets works so well for you. I have been busting my butt with exercise -- eating LOTS of fruit and just enough protien and carbs to keep the energy and the dang scale only showed 1 pound less! eak!! Maybe age has a factor there. ? Anyway - good job for you - I am certain you will succeed. :)
