Home life

Some things I've learned or relearned about having a new baby:

1. They sleep A LOT while you're up, but not so much when it's your turn to sleep.
2. Newborn poop is not nearly as gross as toddler poop. I'd change a thousand newborn diapers over one pair of soiled toddler undies any day.
3. Size newborn is perfect for a 6lb baby, but is a little snug when you have one near 8lbs. The good news is I don't have to return much because most of the newborn size stuff was Parker's :)
4. Breastfeeding is tough work at first, but it gets easier eventually. Along with this, who's boobs have taken over my body? Holy cow!
5. Snoring husbands and awake babies make mommy very grumpy between the hours of 1 and 5 a.m.
6. Bouncy seats that vibrate are a mom's best friend!
7. You will still look a little pregnant after having a baby, and it does nothing for your self esteem.
8. You can never have too many receiving blankets. They're the most useful baby item ever!
9. It's nice to know that a girl won't be able to pee onto her own face during a diaper change like little boys like to do.
10. Seeing Parker and Macy together is the greatest feeling ever and knowing how great Parker is now reminds me how worth it all the trials and tribulations of having a tiny baby are.

Life is good :)

  1. So glad everything is going well. I hear you 100% on all of those things (especially the snoring husband and the awake newborn!)
