I've been trying to do this for weeks, but each time I went running I could never make it to 8. I've ran 7 fine, but my free time never allowed for that extra 10 minutes to get that last mile in. Or I just didn't want to do it. Or, insert excuse here.
According to my half-marathon training schedule, I should have hit this distance 4 weeks ago, and each week after have added a mile. So, in all truth, I'm about 4 miles behind where I should be and I don't have time to catch up. Not cool Gail. Not cool.
Dale's last night of flying should be tonight (fingers crossed he passes) and that should allow time for one more long run by the weeks end. I'm going to shoot for 10-11 miles, probably walking some. After that it's short runs so I can rest my body before race day.
T-minus 12 days. Oh man.
