The bad: Our lease forces us to hire a professional cleaner before we move out, and it's going to cost us about a third of our deposit. However, if I clean the stove, stove top, fridge, mini-blinds and replace all the drip pans myself, I could save a whole $90, which is considering those are the worst jobs, is not even worth it.
The good: I actually had a $5 off formula coupon/check thing to use at the store today.
The bad: It took about 10 minutes for the cashier at Walmart to figure out how to make it work in the check scanner. It kept wrinkling up in the machine, then she kept telling me that I need to treat them like a real check and not fold them or bend them in anyway because then they don't work right. Um, ok lady, you're the one wrinkling it up.
The good: I've been bombarded with freelance work recently.
The bad: The last thing I had to do tonight was send off a pdf of a file, but do you think it would just export without problems, no way. Not today. I had to save it as an eps, then import those files into Acrobat Distiller to convert them into a pdf, then in Acrobat Pro combine all 8 pages into one file. Did you get all that? It's pretty much nerd speak, but take my word for it when I say it was way more complicated than it ever needed to be.
The good: I designed my brother-in-law and his fiance's wedding invitations, RSVP cards, enclosure cards, etc., had them printed and shipped to their home. I was told they were beautiful.
The bad: UPS thought it'd be awesome to deliver that cardboard box full of beautiful paper on a doorstep, in a rainstorm, where it proceeded to ruin all the contents inside. So the bride to be had to deal with the hassle of getting UPS to pay for replacements and getting the printer to print them all again. Even though it wasn't my fault, I still feel terrible.
The good: Macy's figured out how to pull herself up on things so she's standing.
Now she won't stop. I put her in her crib for a nap and found her standing up in there. I left her on the floor with her toys while I went to the bathroom and found her standing up by the coffee table. If something's near that she can grab, she's standing. The girl's never going to master crawling if she keeps standing!
